- Breathlessness – difficulty speaking

- Unconscious/unresponsive
- Sudden onset limb weakness

- Fall – unable to get up

- Heavy bleeding
- Palpitations – persistent
- Overdose
- Accidental poisoning
- Very severe pain
- Significant trauma
- Severe allergic reaction
- Floppy infant
- Sudden onset confusion

- Low blood sugar
Category 2 – Emergency appointment/telephone call
- Diarrhoea and vomiting in infant >24 hours
- Pain/bleeding in pregnancy
- Visual disturbance
- Suicidal
- Hallucinations
- Unable to urinate
- Moderately severe pain
- Moderate breathlessness
- Moderate bleeding
- Simple head injury in infant
- Unwell child with rash
